Clear Project Scope: I’ve learned the hard way that clearly defining the project scope up front is essential. For instance, if I’m building a website, I make sure to outline what’s included—like design, specific features, or revisions. If the client asks for something beyond that, I gently remind them that it’s outside the original scope and discuss any additional costs.
Transparent Communication: Regular updates are key. Clients really appreciate it when they’re kept in the loop, especially for bigger projects. I set up weekly check-ins to discuss progress and address any new questions. This approach has helped me avoid last-minute surprises and keeps everything transparent.
Set Realistic Timelines: Sometimes clients think we can finish projects overnight. I make sure to outline a realistic timeline from the start. Breaking it down into phases, like design, development, and testing, helps clients understand that quality work takes time.
